In this how-to tutorial we will be learning to install TWRP Recovery using Odin on Samsung Devices.
Odin a software used in PC. It is used in Samsung Service centers to reset or flash stock firmware. Now Odin is available for general users and famous all over word specially for Samsung Devices. It is used to flash stock Samsung firmware, custom ROMs, custom kernels, TWRP custom recovery and many more.
For those who don’t know about TWRP, TWRP Custom Recovery is a must have tool for android devices. This is best custom recovery tool used by millions of people worldwide. By installing a custom recovery, you can install custom ROMs, kernels, backup whole system, and other important software. It also provides a safety net when things go wrong.
To get started you will need to follow these simple steps:
Step 1: – Download TWRP Recovery file for your device by clicking the link below.
Note: In order to flash by Odin, you must download .tar file of TWRP recovery for your Samsung device.
Step 2: – Download Odin from link given below:
Step 3: – Unzip the Odin3_v3.13.1.zip file and open Odin3 v3.13.1.exe file as Administrator from the extracted files.
Step 4: – Enable OEM Unlock for your device
Go to Settings -> About phone -> and tap Build number seven times to enable Developer options.
Go back to main Settings page, scroll to bottom and select Developer Options and turn it on.
Under Developer options, look for Enable OEM Unlock checkbox/toggle and enable it.
Step 5: – Now, boot your device into Download mode for this you can follow the instruction below:
Switch off your device.
Press and hold “Home + Power + Volume down”buttons until you see a warning screen.
Press Volume Up button on the warning screen to boot into Download mode.
Step 6: – Once your device is in download mode, connect it to the PC via USB cable. The Odin opened on your PC should detect the device and show an “Added!!” message in white blank area.
Step 7: – Now click on the AP tab on Odin window and select the TWRP recovery .tar file that you downloaded earlier for your device.
Note: DON’T touch any other buttons on your screen.
Step 8: – Click the Start button on Odin and wait for it to finish the process. Once it has finished successfully, you’ll see a pass message with green background on the Odin screen.
Now, your device will automatically reboot when Odin is done flashing and you can then disconnect your device from PC.
After TWRP has been installed we need to boot into TWRP. Follow below steps to boot your Samsung device into TWRP recovery mode:
Switch off your device.
Press and hold “Home + Power + Volume Up” buttons and as soon as you see logo-on screen, release three buttons altogether. Your device will boot into TWRP recovery.
